Our puppies are born in our home and are raised underfoot with lots of love and attention. While specializing in toy breeds, a Chihuahua puppy's health is our first concern. Each Chihuahua puppy comes with a lifetime congenital health guarantee, are seen regularly by our veterinarian and are registered with the AKC.
I have been involved in purebred dogs since 1983, spending my career showing, handling, competing in obedience, judging fun match and obedience class graduations and counseling dog owners. My background is primarily in canine behavior, I have been an avid student of learning how the canine mind works since I was a youngster. I have over 35 years of hands-on experience of observing day-to day the behaviors of dogs from newborn to mature and aged. In addition I have a human psychology background from college and have attended numerous canine behavioral seminars and clinics presented by the top canine behaviorists in the nation. My counseling practice specializes in helping owners understand and treat aggressive canine behaviors. Although I am complimented by being titled a 'dog whisperer' by my clients and students, I do not feel I do anything that cannot be taught.
I have two business locations, a busy grooming shop I opened in 1985 as well as own-operate a dog obedience/behavorial school. In addition I enjoy writing a pet behavioral question and answer column for a local newspaper. I had the bittersweet pleasure of raising 5 guide dog puppies for a New York foundation and was one of the first certified dog/handler team members of the Iowa Canine Search and Rescue Team. I was inducted into the Who's Who of Executives and Professionals in 1995, 1998, 2000 and 2003 and was recently invited to become a member of the Better Business Bureau. I am a devoted fan of the Chihuahua breed who finally feels qualified to raise puppies responsibly.
A Kamelrose Chihuahua puppy is a highly socialized dog. After their first vaccines, they visit nursing homes and go to work with me in my grooming shop. This means the puppies have social opportunities with people of all ages, different floor surfaces, cats and car trips. When at home they have access to a fenced-in yard.
Because of the size of toy breeds, I prefer not to place my dogs in homes with children under the age of 5. This breed can require as much time and attention as young children. Other pets are acceptable if they are docile and non-aggressive in behavior.

Sorry, but I will not ship my puppies by air. I offer personal ground delivery within 12 hours for a nominal fee for new owners that prefer not to drive distances. It is important to me to meet the new owner. I also feel it can be too traumatic flying a little Chi puppy alone in the cargo hold of the plane.
You may choose to pick your puppy up yourself by flying into Des Moines or Omaha, in which case we meet you at the airport. Your new puppy can travel comfortably back to your home with you in the plane cabin. We realize we miss out on many good homes since we won't airship by cargo but our babies really are our first concern.
